Interview with Beverly W. Morant / by John Bluth.

Interview with Morant, who worked as a machinist and teacher for Caltech's GALCIT and Eaton Canyon projects in the 1940s and 1950s. After describing his school studies, Morant discusses how he came to work for Caltech and the GALCIT project, his work during World War II, creating a tungsten carbide throat for early rockets, tools commonly used in machine work, JATO tests at Edwards Air base, working at China Lake and Eaton Canyon, and his work on campus. He describes his involvement in nozzle and propellant design and collaboration with machine shops in Pasadena as well as die casting work at Lockheed. He also discusses working at John Muir High School in the 1950s and 1960s, his post retirement business in geology work, and his contributions to canal restoration both in England and the U.S.
